High Plains slaughter sales
High Plains weighted average direct slaughter cattle sales for the week ending July 18, totaled 216,150 head, compared to 168,429 head last week and 260,579 head last year, according to the USDA Market News Service, St. Joseph, Mo.
The report was based on sales in Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas, Nebraska, Colorado, Iowa and Minnesota feedlots.
Feeder steers: Live FOB basis, over 80% Choice, 5,911 head, 1,100 to 1,420 lbs., 80.00 to 85.00 (82.06); 65 to 80% Choice, 8,393 head, 1,085 to 1,425 lbs., 80.00 to 87.00 (83.19); 35 to 65% Choice, 45,773 head, 1,065 to 1,375 lbs., 80.75 to 86.00 (82.70); 0 to 35% Choice, 5,302 head, 1,100 to 1,425 lbs., 81.00 to 83.00 (82.44). Dressed delivered basis, over 80% Choice, 3,585 head, 756 to 994 lbs., 129.00 to 135.00 (131.32); 65 to 80% Choice, 17,867 head, 740 to 898 lbs., 130.00 to 137.00 (131.40); 35 to 65% Choice, 14,953 head, 700 to 918 lbs., 129.00 to 135.00 (131.43); 0 to 35% Choice, 77 head, 776 to 832 lbs., 130.00 to 131.00 (130.75).
