The summary of Georgia cattle auctions for the week ending July 16 showed receipts of 14,500 head, compared to 14,000 head last year, according to the USDA Market News Service, Thomasville, Ga.

Compared to one week ago, no trends available because the markets were being closed for the holiday.

The offering included 7% steers over 600 pounds, 36% steers under 600 pounds, 6% heifers over 600 pounds, 26% heifers under 600 pounds, 9% feeder cows, 14% slaughter cows, and 2% bulls.

Slaughter cows: 75 to 80% lean, 850 to 1200 lbs., 54.00 to 59.00; 80 to 85% lean, 850 to 1200 lbs., 54.00 to 60.00; low dressing, 49.00 to 55.00; high dressing, 60.00 to 66.00; 80 to 85% lean, over 1200 lbs., 56.00 to 62.00; low dressing, 50.00 to 56.00; high dressing, 62.00 to 66.00; 85 to 90% lean, 800 to 1200 lbs., 52.00 to 57.00; low dressing, 45.00 to 51.00; high dressing, 58.00 to 62.00; 85 to 90% lean, 600 to 800 lbs., 45.00 to 50.00; low dressing, 43.00 to 46.00.

Slaughter bulls: Yield grade 1, 1500 to 2100 lbs., 65.00 to 74.00; low dressing, 58.00 to 66.00; high dressing, 74.00 to 81.00; 1000 to 1500 lbs., 62.00 to 72.00; low dressing, 55.00 to 63.00; high dressing, 72.00 to 78.00.

Feeder steers and bulls: Medium and large 1 and 2, 200 to 250 lbs., 160.00 to 180.00; 250 to 300 lbs., 155.00 to 175.00; 300 to 350 lbs., 145.00 to 160.00; 350 to 400 lbs., 130.00 to 145.00; 400 to 450 lbs., 125.00 to 140.00; 450 to 500 lbs., 115.00 to 130.00; 500 to 550 lbs., 110.00 to 123.00; 550 to 600 lbs., 105.00 to 120.00; 600 to 650 lbs., 104.00 to 116.00; 650 to 700 lbs., 100.00 to 111.00; 700 to 800 lbs., 95.00 to 105.00. Feeder and replacement cows: Medium and large frame 1 and 2, 3 to 7 years old, 850 to 1150 lbs., 63.00 to 73.00. Medium and large frame 2 and 3, 3 to 7 years old, 800 to 1100 lbs., 52.00 to 62.00. Medium and large frame 1 and 2, 4 to 6 months bred, 62.00 to 72.00; 7 to 9 months bred, 63.00 to 69.00. Medium and large frame 2 to 3, 4 to 6 months bred, 50.00 to 60.00; 7 to 9 months bred, 53.00 to 63.00.

Pairs: Medium and large frame 1 and 2, 800 to 1100 lbs., with 150- to 300-lb.. calves, 840.00 to 1040.00. Small frame 1 and 2, with 150- to 300-lb. calves, 660.00 to 750.00. Medium and large frame 2 to 3, with 150- to 300-lb. calves, 640.00 to 840.00. Small frame 2 to 3, with 150- to 300-lb. calves, 500.00 to 620.00.
