West Plains livestock report
The Ozarks Regional Stockyard, West Plains, Mo., reported receipts of 1,500 head Jan. 6, compared to 4,554 head last year, according to the USDA Market News Service, Jefferson City, Mo.
Compared to the previous sale 3 weeks ago, steers under 575 pounds sold $2 to $5 lower, over 575 pounds were $8 to $12 lower. Heifers under 500 pounds were $1 to $3 lower, over 500 pounds were $6 to $10 lower with full decline on weights over 650 pounds. The supply was light. Demand was uneven, good on lighter calves, light on heavier calves and yearlings weighing over 600 pounds. The supply included 55% steers and 45% heifers, with nearly 28% weighing over 600 pounds.
Feeder steers: Medium and large frame 1, 300 to 400 lbs., 117.00 to 123.00; 400 to 450 lbs., 110.00 to 117.00, package, 405 lbs., 122.00; 450 to 500 lbs., 101.00 to 108.00; 500 to 550 lbs., 98.00 to 104.00; 550 to 600 lbs., 88.00 to 98.50; 600 to 650 lbs., 85.00 to 93.00; 650 to 700 lbs., 82.00 to 83.50; few 700 to 710 lbs., 79.00 to 81.00. Medium and large frame 1 and 2, 300 to 350 lbs., 111.00 to 113.00; 400 to 450 lbs., 109.50 to 112.00; 450 to 500 lbs., 100.00 to 106.00; 500 to 550 lbs., 98.00 to 102.00; 550 to 600 lbs., 88.50 to 96.00; 600 to 700 lbs., 84.00 to 88.00; few 755 to 765 lbs., 78.50 to 79.50. Medium and large frame 2, 400 to 450 lbs., 98.00 to 112.00; 475 to 500 lbs., 93.00 to 102.00.
Holstein steers: Large frame 3, 300 to 350 lbs., 83.00 to 84.00; lot 522 lbs., 80.00; package, 608 lbs., 68.00.
