Woodward livestock sales
The Woodward Livestock Auction, Woodward, Okla., reported 1,475 head Feb. 6, compared to 6,128 head last week, according to the USDA Market News service, Oklahoma City, Okla.
Compared to last week, feeder steers and heifers were steady, except 600-pound stocker heifers were $3 higher. There was a limited test on steer and heifer calves. Demand was good for all classes. Fill was average to full. Quality was average. The supply was comprised of 67% steers, 33% heifers with 83% over 600 pounds. Slaughter cows were steady. Slaughter bulls were $2 higher. A total of 467 cows and bulls sold with 16% going to packers.

Medium and large frame 2, 7 head, 471 lbs., 94.00; 15 head, 606 to 623 lbs., 83.00 to 83.50 (83.36). Medium and large frame 3, 5 head, 660 to 680 lbs., 76.00 to 77.50 (76.61).
Slaughter cows: Breakers, 5 head, 75 to 80% lean, 1650 to 1850 lbs., 49.75 to 50.00. Boners, 37 head, 80 to 85% lean, 1250 to 1525 lbs., 47.00 to 49.25; high dressing, 50.00 to 53.00; low dressing, 42.00 to 46.50. Lean, 30 head, 85 to 90% lean, 850 to 1150 lbs., 46.75 to 47.50; high dressing, 48.75 to 49.25; low dressing, 40.00 to 43.75.
Slaughter bulls: Yield grade 1 and 2, 8 head, 1525 to 1900 lbs., 60.00 to 60.50; high dressing, 66.00 to 68.00; low dressing, 59.00 to 59.50.
Replacement cows: Medium and large frame 1, heifers, 1000 to 1125 lbs., 7 to 8 months bred, high quality blacks, 950.00 to 1035.00; heifers, 950 lbs., 7 to 8 months bred, average quality blacks, 935.00; 4 to 6 years old, 1075 lbs., 7 to 8 months, average quality blacks, 850.00.
