The Woodward Livestock Auction, Woodward, Okla., reported 6,128 head Jan. 30, compared to 5,805 head last week, according to the USDA Market News Service, Oklahoma City, Okla.

Compared to last week, feeder steers were $2 to $5 lower. Feeder heifers were $3 to $5 lower. Steer and heifer calves were $2 to $4 lower. Demand was good for all classes. Fill was average to full. Quality was attractive to average, with the end plain. The supply was comprised 67% steers, 31% heifers with 88% over 600 pounds. Slaughter cows and bulls were steady. A total of 484 cows and bulls sold with 49% going to packers.

Slaughter cows: Boners, 141 head, 80 to 85% lean, 1000 to 1525 lbs., 47.00 to 49.75; high dressing, 49.50 to 52.00; low dressing, 43.50 to 47.00. Lean, 65 head, 85 to 90% lean, 1000 to 1225 lbs., 45.00 to 46.75; high dressing, 47.25 to 50.00; low dressing, 42.00 to 45.00.

Slaughter bulls: Yield grade 1 and 2, 32 head, 1425 to 2000 lbs., 58.50 to 62.00; low dressing, 53.50 to 57.50.

Replacement cows: Medium and large frame 1, 1 and 2 years old, 975 to 1100 lbs., 7 to 8 months bred, high quality blacks, 960.00 to 1110.00; 1 and 2 years old, 875 to 1015 lbs., 6 to 7 months bred, average quality, 710.00.
