Watertown livestock sales

South Dakota Livestock Sales, Watertown, S.D., reported receipts of 1,000 head Feb. 11, compared to 1,900 head last week and 1,500 head last year, according to the USDA Market News Service, Sioux Falls, S.D.

Compared to last week, feeder steers and heifers sold $2 higher. Demand was good. Offerings were native medium and large frame l and 2, backgrounded steer and heifer calves in moderate to moderate-plus flesh. Offerings were reduced by blizzard conditions. Steers comprised 66% of the run, heifers 34%, with 80% over 600 pounds.

Feeder steers: Medium and large frame 1, 7 head, 509 lbs., 113.50; 550 to 569 lbs., 103.50 to 106.75 (104.87); 31 head, 644 lbs., 97.50; 617 to 640 lbs., 92.50 to 97.25 (95.58) fleshy; 653 to 684 lbs., 93.50 to 94.35 (94.08); 672 to 690 lbs., 87.25 to 89.35 (88.75) fleshy; 16 head, 701 to 733 lbs., 85.00 to 85.50 (85.24) fleshy; 762 to 783 lbs., 84.60 to 85.10 (84.77); 7 head, 792 lbs., 80.00 fleshy; 803 to 833 lbs., 79.10 to 83.85 (82.77); 20 head, 861 lbs., 81.85. Medium and large frame 1 and 2, 6 head, 451 to 453 lbs., 107.00 to 109.00 (108.00); 7 head, 516 lbs., 105.50; 13 head, 553 to 592 lbs., 94.00 to 96.00 (94.75); 5 head, 762 lbs., 84.25. Medium and large frame 2, 5 head, 530 lbs., 94.00; 6 head, 566 lbs., 82.00. Large frame 3, 6 head, 919 lbs., 65.25.
