Watertown cattle sales report
The South Dakota Livestock Sales, Watertown, S.D., reported 1,900 head Feb. 4, compared to 2,300 head last week and 2,250 head last year, according to the USDA Market News Service, Sioux Falls, S.D.
Compared to last week, feeder steers and heifers weighing 800 pounds were steady. Feeder cattle under 800 pounds were $1 to $5 lower. The offering included 67% feeder steers, 33% heifers, 92% weighing over 600 pounds.
Feeder steers: Medium and large frame 1, 6 head, 420 lbs., 115.00; 5 head, 482 lbs., 110.00; 6 head, 500 lbs., 119.00; 578 to 595 lbs., 99.50 to 99.75 (99.66); 25 head, 616 lbs., 106.50; 669 to 677 lbs., 89.00 to 91.50 (89.92); 701 to 712 lbs., 88.20 to 92.50 (89.92); 752 to 786 lbs., 81.85 to 85.00 (82.54); 801 to 836 lbs., 78.25 to 81.10 (80.15); 852 to 864 lbs., 78.25 to 79.25 (78.69). Medium and large frame 1 and 2, 684 to 698 lbs., 84.50 to 86.90 (85.93); 703 to 747 lbs., 80.60 to 83.75 (82.88); 764 to 787 lbs., 81.75 to 82.00 (81.90); 14 head, 820 to 828 lbs., 75.00 to 75.75 (75.48). Medium frame 1 and 2, 13 head, 727 lbs., 76.25.
