Tulia livestock auction notesThe Tulia Livestock Auction, Tulia, Texas, reported receipts of 2,117 head Dec. 20, compared to 2,715 head last week and 1,955 head last year, according to the USDA Market News Service, Tulia, Texas. Compared to last week, feeder steers were mostly steady, except 700- to 800-pounds were $3 higher. Feeder heifers were steady to $1 lower. Slaughter cows were steady to $2 higher on light test. Slaughter bulls were not well tested. Trade was active. Demand was moderate. The bulk of the supply were Medium and large frame 1 and 2, 600- to 800-pound feeder steers and heifers. Feeder cattle accounted for 98% and slaughter cows and bulls 2% of the run. In the feeder supply, steers made up approximately 69% of the run, heifers 31%, steers and heifers over 600 pounds totaled 70%. Steers: Medium and large frame 1, few 268 lbs., 144.00; 425 to 475 lbs., 127.00 to 131.00; 625 to 700 lbs., 106.00 to 110.00; 700 to 800 lbs., 103.50 to 110.00.
