Pratt livestock sale notes
Pratt Livestock Sales Inc., Pratt, Kan., reported receipts of 2,711 head, Dec. 16, compared to 3,513 head, last week and 2,109 head, last year, according to the Kansas Department of Agriculture Market News Service, Dodge City, Kan.
Compared to last week, 300- to 650-pound feeder steers were steady to firm in a light supply, and 650- to 1000-pound steers were $1 to $2 higher. Feeder heifers weighing 300 to 950 pounds were steady to firm in a light supply. Trade was active, demand was good. Slaughter cows and bulls were steady. Receipts included 69% 600 pounds and over, 27% 600 pounds and under, 4% cows and bulls. The feeder supply was 62% steers and 38% heifers.
