Outstanding genetics lead Eastern National Salers Show

Sixty-nine Salers from four-three Salers breeders paraded their top genetics by judge Todd Herman of Skiatook, Okla., at the Eastern National Salers Show, Wednesday, Nov. 17, at Louisville, Ky. Herman commented that all the female classes had outstanding females that anybody would be proud to have in their herd. Herman congratulated co-owners GG&T Land & Cattle Company of Quniter, Kan. and Jason Conatser of Jamestown, Tenn., when he awarded GGT P Blk Serenity 158N, a Jan. 13, 2003, Big Sky P Blk Stealth daughter, Grand Champion Heifer. Brown Farms, Sedalia, Mo., was also congratulated by Herman when his early junior heifer, JGK Blk Pld Nicole, an AP Polled Genesis XZ64F daughter, won Reserve Grand Champion Heifer.

JCGC Pld Playmate 409P, a March 9, 2004, daughter of FCF WCFS E-Male H53K, owned by Jo C.G. Colmore of Rising Fawn, Ga., won Spring Heifer Calf Champion. Zuck's Sheza Dream, a GGT P Excalibur 162M daughter won Reserve Spring Heifer owned by Mark Zuckschwerdt, Bloomfield, Ind.

In the junior heifer division Herman selected a daughter of AP Polled Genesis XZ64F, JGK Blk Nicole, born Jan. 2, 2004, owned by Brown, Farms for Grand Champion Junior Heifer. Herman later selected this female for his Reserve Grand Champion Heifer. Reserve Junior Champion was won by co-owners GG&T Land & Cattle Company and Lucky D Cattle Co., Gainesville, Texas, with GGT P Blk Candy 189P, a daughter also of AP Polled Genesis XZ64F.

Honors in the senior heifer calf division went to Jeremy Dyer of Rising Fawn, Ga., with TDH Nina an Aug. 27, 2003, daughter of D55 Blk Metal 9101J. Jo C.G. Colmore won the Reserve Senior Heifer Calf honors with a Dec. 30, 2003, JCGC Pld Bullet 219M daughter, JCGC Pld Shebang 357N.

LC Farms Salers of Brownstown, Ind. won the Junior Champion Heifer with LCF Virginia Dare 96N who was sired by AP Polled Dynamite 839H. She was the Summer Yearling Heifer Grand Champion. Zuck's Heartbreaker, a May 9, 2003, daughter of GGT P Broker 137K owned by Trae Simmons, Tipton, Ind., won Reserve Junior Yearling Heifer and Reserve Junior Champion Heifer.

In the senior heifer division, co-owners GG&T Land & Cattle Company and Jason Conatser were awarded Grand Champion Senior Heifer with GGT P Blk Serenity 158N, a Jan. 13, 2003, Big Sky P Blk Stealth daughter. This heifer was the female that Herman selected as Grand Champion Heifer. JGK Miss Camille was selected for Reserve Senior Heifer who is owned by M Travis Brown. This senior heifer is a AP Polled Genesis XZ64F daughter.

In the cow/calf two-year old class, an Oklahoma entry, Breanna Duncan, of Marlow won the Grand Champion Cow/Calf pair with BCD Ms Genie, a 2002 born daughter of AP Polled Genesis XZ64F. H & S Farms of Baltimore, Ohio, exhibited the Reserve Cow/Calf Pair with a two year old daughter of ABF Baxter 032H, H&S Miss Marigold.

H & S Farms exhibited the Grand Champion Cow/Calf Pair older than two year class with LCF Dixie Chick 100J who is a AP Polled Genesis XZ64F daughter.

Herman selected his grand and reserve from the Cow/Calf two-year class for Grand Champion Cow/Cow Pairs.

Herman had his work cut-out judging the Salers bull show. For Grand Champion bull Herman selected GGT P Gold Label 135N, a GGT P Blk Escalade 135L son, co-owners GG&T Land & Cattle Company and Lucky D Cattle Co., Gainesville, Texas. Co-owners GG&T Land & Cattle Company and T Dykstra Inc. of Zeeland Mich., won Reserve Grand Champion Bull honors with a GGT P Blk Escalade 135L son, GGT P Blk Predator 223N.

In the early spring calf division, James and Gennelle Krehbiel of Scott City, Kan., won with their bull calf JGK Blk Banner, a March 12, 2004, son of AP Polled Genesis XZ64F. JCGC Pld Pride 445P, an FCF WCFS E-Male H53K son exhibited by Jo C.G. Colmore earned the Reserve Spring Bull Calf Champion.

GG&T Land & Cattle Company received Junior Bull Calf Champion with their Jan. 4, 2004, bull calf, GGT P Blk Overtime 39P, who was sired by GGT Blk Tycoon 261M. JGK Flat Iron 502P, a Jan. 2, 2004, bull calf sired by AP Polled Genesis XZ64F won the Reserve Junior Bull Calf Champion. He was exhibited by James and Genelle Krehbiel.

H & S Farms won Grand Champion Senior Bull Calf with H & S Nitro a GGT P Lexus 37J, Aug. 21, 2003, son. Reserve Senior Bull Calf Champion went to a Dec. 2, 2003, LCF Vision bull calf, DMB Black Star, owned by East Tennessee Land and Cattle, Tazewell, Tenn.

In the Junior Bull Yearling division, co-owners GG&T Land & Cattle Company and Lucky D Cattle Co. won the Grand with GGT P Gold Label 135N and Reserve Champion was won by co-owners GG&T Land & Cattle Company and T Dykstra Inc. GGT P Blk Predator 223N. Herman selected these two division winners as his Grand and Reserve Champion Bulls.

In the Junior Get of Sire Class, James and Genelle Krehbiel won Champion with sire AP Polled Genesis XZ654F. Jo C.G. Colmore won Reserve Champion with sire FCF WCFS E-Male H53K.

James and Genelle Krehbiel also won the Get-of Sire Class with sire AP Polled Genesis XZ654F.

Champion Produce of Dam went to Brown Farms with T-T Miss Dusty F602. Jo C. G. Colmore followed as reserve with JCGC Claire 45F.

GG&T Land and Cattle Company was awarded Champion Best of Five Head and Premier Breeder of the American Royal Salers Show. The show came to a close after Jo C.G. Colmore was awarded Reserve Best of Five Head.

H & S Farms won the Premier Exhibitor Award and . Jo C.G. Colmore won the Premier Breeder Award.
