West Plains cattle sale news
The Ozarks Regional Stockyard, West Plains, Mo., reported receipts of 3,652 head Aug. 24, compared to 3,490 head last week and 3,153 head last year, according to the USDA Market News Service, Jefferson City, Mo.
Compared to last week, steers sold steady to weak, with spots, especially 600-pound steers, that sold weak to $2 lower. Heifers were mostly steady. The supply was moderate and primarily calves, quality not as attractive. The supply included 54% steers and 46% heifers, with nearly 37% over 600 pounds.
