Texas juniors sweep Hereford owned showTexas National Junior Hereford Association (NJHA) members from the state of Texas exhibited every division winner in the horned Hereford owned show during the 2004 Junior National Hereford Expo (JNHE). Jason and Justin Barber, Channing, exhibited the first five division winners along with champion and reserve females while Will Echols, Breckenridge, Texas, had the division six champion female. The judge, Clint Rusk, W. Lafayette, Ind., said he really enjoyed sorting the cattle for the two days of the owned show and thought it went by way too fast. Rusk grew up on a Hereford operation and said he was blown away by the quality that was before him in the championship line up. "It just behooves me to see the quality and progress this breed has made and this says a lot for these young people's breeding programs." He also commended all exhibitors and their parents for creating a family oriented breed and atmosphere during the show. Jason Barber edged out his brother and 141 other horned females to receive the champion Hereford female honors with DM L1 Dominette 340 by DM BR L1 Domino 146.
