Watertown livestock sales report
The South Dakota Livestock Sales, Watertown, S.D., reported receipts of 800 head, April 7, compared to 1,800 head last week, and 2,500 head last year, according to the USDA Market News Service, Sioux Falls, S.D.
Compared to last week, the feeder market was weak, but steady for good quality feeders. The offering included 74% steers, 26% heifers, with 94% weighing over 600 pounds.
Feeder steers: Medium and large frame 1, 5 head, 458 lbs., 132.00; 5 head, 514 lbs., 129.00; 17 head, 660 lbs., 105.25; 15 head, 757 lbs., 98.00; 831 to 834 lbs., 89.75 to 90.30 (90.19); 985 to 995 lbs., 83.10 to 84.40 (84.23); 1001 to 1033 lbs., 83.00 to 84.40 (84.04); 20 head, 1073 lbs., 82.80 fleshy. Medium and large frame 1 and 2, 527 to 534 lbs., 106.50 to 107.50 (107.13); 671 to 681 lbs., 92.85 to 95.00 (93.18); 5 head, 745 lbs., 95.75; 26 head, 794 lbs., 93.75; 6 head, 843 lbs., 79.50; 6 head, 913 lbs., 81.50.
Feeder Holstein steers: Large frame 3, 7 head, 772 lbs., 74.25.
Feeder heifers: Medium and large frame 1, 668 to 695 lbs., 90.25 to 92.25 (91.08); 779 to 790 lbs., 85.75 to 87.00 (86.73); 14 head, 823 to 830 lbs., 82.75 to 83.00 (82.93); 10 head, 913 lbs., 81.00.
