Barvarian Apple Torte

Ingredients:
1/2 cup butter
1/3 cup sugar
1/4 teaspoon vanilla
1 cup flour
1 (8 oz.) package cream cheese
1/4 cup sugar
1 egg
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
1/3 cup sugar
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
4 cups apples, peeled and sliced
1/4 cup almonds, sliced








Directions: To make the crust, cream butter, sugar and vanilla. Blend in flour. Spread dough on bottom and sides of 9 inch pie plate. To make the filling, combine softened cream cheese and sugar. Mix well. Add egg and vanilla, mix well. Pour into pastry lined pan. To make the topping combine sugar and cinnamon. Toss apples in sugar mixture. Spoon mixture over cream cheese layer. Sprinkle with almonds.
