Beef Chow Mein Skillet

Ingredients:
1 lb. ground beef
1 large onion
4 cups hot water
3 cups celery, chopped
1 (8 oz.) package fresh mushrooms, quartered
1-1/2 cups water
1 (8 oz.) can water chestnuts sliced
3 tablespoons reduced sodium soy sauce
1 tablespoon brown sugar
2 teaspoon beef bouillon granules
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1/8 teaspoon pepper
2 tablespoon cornstarch
3 tablespoon water
hot cooked rice
1 cup chow mein noodles




Directions: In a large non-stick skillet cook beef and onions, drain. Stir celery, mushrooms, water waterchestnus, soy sauce, brown sugar, bouillon granules, garlic and pepper. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer for 15 to 20 minutes or until vegetables are tender. Combine cornstarch and cold water and blend until smooth. Stir into meat mixture and stir for 2 minutes or until thickened. Serve over rice if desired, top with chow mein noodles.
