Crusty Corn Pie

1 1/4 cups fine bread crumbs
1/3 cup margarine
1 tablespoon onion, chopped
1/4 cup green pepper, chopped
2 tablespoons margarine
2 tablespoons flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon sugar
1 cup milk
1 can whole kernel corn
2 eggs (or 4 egg yolks)

Directions: Blend bread crumbs and 1/3 cup margarine together. Press into a 9 inch pie pan, reserving 1/4 cup for topping. Saute onion, pepper and 2 tablespoons margarine in skillet until soft. Blend in flour, salt & sugar; gradually add milk, stirring until mixture

Notes: Very good with any meal and different than plain old scalloped corn.
