Real Good Chili

Ingredients:
2 lbs. lean ground beef
4 tablespoons chili powder
2 teaspoons salt
1 tablespoon sugar
1 (large) chopped onions
1 chopped green pepper
2 (15 oz.) cans tomato sauce or sauce with tomato bits
1 cup water
1 bay leaf
2 tablespoons vegetable oil
2 tablespoons flour
2 (15 oz.) cans red kidney beans








Directions: In a large Dutch oven put a small amount of water in and boil ground beef crumbling it with a fork. Drain off all water when cooked through and add chili powder, salt and sugar; mix well. Add onion, green pepper, tomato sauce, water and bay leaf. Cover and simmer stirring occasionally for 1 hour. Remove bay leaf. In a small bowl, stir together the oil and flour until smooth; stir in beans; add to meat mixture. Cover and simmer, stirring occasionally, until thoroughly heated and slightly thickened, about 30 minutes. Makes about 3 quarts - 8 to 10 servings.
