Ingredients:
1/2 cup shortening
2 eggs
1/2 cup cocoa
1 1/2 cups flour, sifted
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon red food coloring
1 1/4 cup sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 cup water
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon baking powder

Directions: Cream shortening and sugar. Add beaten eggs and then vanilla. Sift together cocoa, flour, salt, baking soda and baking powder. Mix in food coloring. Add water alternately with the sifted dry ingredients. Bake in a 350°F oven for about 30 minutes.
