Ingredients:
3/4 cup onion, chopped
1 tablespoon vegetable oil
2 1/4 teaspoons yeast
1/2 cup warm water
1/2 cup warm milk
2 eggs
1/4 cup butter
1 tablespoon sugar
1 1/2 teaspoons salt
3 1/2 to 4 cups flour
2 teaspoons cold water
Parmesan cheese or sesame seeds

Directions: Saute the onion in oil until tender. Dissolve yeast in warm water. Add milk, 1 egg, butter, sugar, salt and 1 cup of flour. Beat on medium speed for 2 minutes. Stir in onions and more flour to form soft ball of dough. Knead 6 to 8 minutes. Place in a greased bowl, cover and let rise 1 hour. Punch down. Let rise for 10 minutes. Divide into 32 pieces. Roll into bread stick shapes. Cover and let rise 15 minutes. Beat together cold water and 1 egg white, brush over bread sticks. Add Parmesan cheese or sprinkle with sesame seeds. Bake at 350 F for 16 to 22 minutes. Serves 32.
Notes: These are great for dunking in pizza sauce and excellent with spaghetti!
