Apple Nut Bread

Ingredients:
2 cups flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/3 cup shortening
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup brown sugar
1 egg, beaten
1/2 cup orange juice
1/2 to 1 cup pecans, chopped
1 cup apples, finely chopped









Directions: Mix together flour, salt, baking soda and baking powder. Set aside. Cream shortening and sugars together, add beaten egg. Add flour mixture and orange juice. Blend well. Add nuts and apples. Pour into a greased and floured loaf pan. Bake at 350°F for 1 hour.

Notes: This recipe is a favorite and easy to carry to family and friends.
