Sugar Cookies

Ingredients:
2/3 cup shortening
2 eggs
3 cups flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
1 1/4 cups sugar
1 1/4 teaspoon vanilla
1 teaspoon salt
1 tablespoon milk












Directions: Beat eggs, cream, sugar, and shortening together and add to eggs. Add vanilla, sifted flour, salt, baking powder and milk. Chill in the refrigerator. Roll out (so the dough is thin) on a floured board and cut with a cookie cutter. Sprinkle with sugar and bake in a 375°F oven 7 to 8 minutes.

Notes: My grandmother was famous in our family for her sugar cookies. Many times the smell of baking cookies greeted us as we entered her kitchen.
