Our Favorite Cookies

Ingredients:
1 cup shortening
1 cup sugar
1 cup light brown sugar
2 eggs, beaten
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/3 teaspoon salt
1 (6 oz.) package semi-sweet chocolate chips
1 (6 oz.) package butterscotch chips
1-1/4 teaspoon baking soda, dissolved in 2 tablespoons cold water
3 cups flour
1 teaspoon vanilla
1/2 cup pecans, chopped








Directions: Cream shortening, sugars, egg and vanilla. Dissolve baking soda in cold water, add to mixture. Blend sifted dry ingredients. Add pecans, chocolate and butterscotch chips. Drop by teaspoonfuls onto ungreased baking sheet. Bake at 375ยบ F for 8 to 9 minutes. Do not overbake.
