Old Fashion Custard Pie

Ingredients:
1 9 inch pastry shell cooked 5 minutes and cooled
4 eggs, slightly beaten
1/2 cup sugar
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 to 1-1/2 teaspoons vanilla
1 teaspoon almond extract
2-1/2 cups scalded milk
1/2 (plus) teaspoon nutmeg












Directions: Blend eggs, sugar, salt, vanilla and almond extract. Add 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg. Using wire whip, whisk lightly. Blend in milk, whisking as you pour. Sprinkle in a little nutmeg as you whisk. Pour into pie shell. Bake in 400°F oven 25 to 30 minutes or until knife comes out clean. Cool.

Notes: This pie has been a favorite in our family for years.
