Graham Cracker Cake

Ingredients:
1/2 cup shortening
1 cup sugar
3 eggs, separated
1 scant cup milk
23 graham crackers
2 teaspoons baking powder
1 cup nuts, any kind you prefer
1/2 teaspoon salt












Directions: Cream shortening and sugar together, beat the yolks until light and add to sugar mixture. Add the milk. Roll the crackers fine. Mix baking powder with cracker crumbs and add this to the other mixture together with salt and chopped nuts. Last fold in the beaten egg whites. Bake in 2 layers in 375-400°F oven.

Notes: For extra large 3 layer cake, double recipe.
