Granola

Ingredients:
4 1/2 cups quick oats
1 cup sunflower seeds
1 cup chopped hazelnuts (pecans are good too)
1/2 cup grapeseed oil
1 cup honey
1 tablespoon brown sugar
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 cup water
1 cup raisins











Directions: Preheat oven to 350°F. Combine oats, sunflower seeds and hazelnuts in large bowl. Combine, oil, honey, brown sugar,salt and water in small pan and simmer. Stir to mix and turn off heat. Slowly pour this mixture over oats and nuts, mixing and moistening thoroughly as you go. Spread the granola out in a large tray. Bake for 15 minutes. Toss well. Turn heat down to 275°F and bake another 45 minutes, tossing every 15 minutes. Turn heat down to 250°F and bake for another 30 minutes, tossing every 15 minutes. Now, turn heat down to 225°F, add the raisins, mix well. Bake for another 20 to 30 minutes, tossing every 10 to 15 minutes, until the mixture appears dry. Remove the tray from oven. Toss granola every now and then until it has cooled thoroughly. Store in tightly closed container. Makes 9 cups.

Notes: Top with fresh fruit and eat as cereal with milk. Bananas, blueberries or blackberries are especially good.
