Lasagna

Ingredients:
1 1/2 lbs. ground beef
1 (medium) chopped onion
1 clove chopped clove garlic
1 (15 oz.) can tomato sauce
1 (6 oz.) can tomato paste
1 cup water
1/4 cup Parmesan cheese
1 tablespoon Italian seasoning
1 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon pepper
1 cup cream style small curd cottage cheese
1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
1 (8 oz.) package lasagna noodles (cooked and drained)
grated Mozzarella cheese






Directions: Lightly brown ground beef, onion and garlic in frying pan. Pour off excess drippings. Add tomato sauce, tomato paste, water, Parmesan cheese, Italian seasoning, salt and pepper. Cook slowly covered for 20 minutes stirring occasionally. Mix cottage cheese and nutmeg, set aside. Spread one cup of meat sauce in bottom of 13 x 9 inch baking dish and add the following layers: 1/3 noodles; 1 1/2 cup meat sauce; spiced cottage cheese; 1/3 noodles; 1 1/2 cup meat sauce; grated Mozzarella cheese; 1/3 noodles; and remaining meat sauce. Bake at 350°F for 30 to 35 minutes, let stand 5 minutes. Makes 8 servings.
