Beef & Beer Soup

1 lb. ground chuck or ground venison
1 ( large) finely chopped onion
1 (12 oz.) can beer
1 (10 oz.) can condensed beef broth
1 cup water
3 (medium) peeled and sliced carrots
2 ribs sliced celery
1 (large) can mushroom stem's and pieces (undrained)
1 (large) bay leaf
1 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon black pepper

Directions: Brown ground chuck or venison in large skillet with onion. Drain. Place meat into a large sauce pan. Stir in remainder of ingredients. Simmer 35 to 45 minutes until vegetables are tender. Remove bay leaf.

Notes: Perfect for Super Bowl Sunday. Serve with homemade bread.
