Easy Ginger Cookies

Ingredients:
3 cups flour
1 cup sugar
1 teaspoon soda
1 teaspoon ginger
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup molasses
1/2 cup shortening
4 teaspoons hot water
2 well beaten eggs











Directions: Sift together the flour, sugar, soda, ginger and salt. In a saucepan, heat molasses and shortening and when hot add the 4 teaspoons of hot water. Cool slightly and stir into dry ingredients. Add the beaten eggs. Drop by teaspoon on buttered tin and bake in a 350°F oven until lightly browned.

Notes: We grew up with this recipe. The recipe is around 100 years old.
