Ingredients:
3/4 pound ground beef
1/2 cup onion, chopped
1 (12 oz.) can tomatoes or 3/4 quart canned tomatoes
2 cups potatoes, pared and diced
1 cup carrots, diced
1/2 cup celery
1/4 cup rice
1 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
1 bay leaf
1 1/2 quarts water

Directions: Brown ground beef and onions. Combine with remaining ingredients in a large saucepan or stockpot. Simmer 1 hour. Serve hot. Serves 6.
