Ingredients:
4 cups oatmeal
2 cups brown sugar
1 cup salad oil
1 cup soft dates, chopped
1 teaspoon salt
4 eggs, well beaten
1 teaspoon vanilla
1/2 cup pecans, chopped
2 cups flour
1 teaspoon baking soda

Directions: Mix oatmeal, brown sugar, oil, dates and salt. Let stand overnight. Blend in eggs, vanilla, pecans, flour and baking soda. Drop by teaspoonfuls on greased and floured cookie sheet. Bake at 325°F for 10 minutes. Makes 7 dozen cookies.
Notes: My Grandma didn't have a name for these cookies so she called them her "hurry up cookies".
