ETHANOL AT THE RACESETHANOL AT THE RACES--The No. 17 Rahal Letterman Indy Car is sponsored by the Ethanol Promotion and Information Council and driver Ryan Hunter-Reay, left, stops for pictures with National Corn Growers Association President Ken McCauley; EPIC Executive Director Toni Nuernberg; and EPIC Director of Operations Robert White before racing at the Kansas Speedway April 26. Hunter-Reay finished 18th at the IndyCar Series RoadRunner Turbo 300. EPIC leaders and industry advisors held a press conference prior to the race to discuss the food versus fuel myths that are appearing in popular media. "The alarmist attitude from the press is not serving the public well," Nuernberg told reporters. "The blame game will not solve our energy woes." She added that ethanol may not be the whole solution, but it is most definitely a valuable part of solving America's energy needs. (Journal photo by Jennifer M. Latzke.) 5/12/08 Date: 5/6/08
